My Canvas
I am an Indian citizen. I was born in Dehradun, India and have lived my life in my hometown, from schooling to college. During my school days, I used to participate in various co-curricular events like, inter-school music & dance competition, art competition, etc. I was a good player of basketball therefore, played for six years for my school team and was also the captain for two continuous years. During my bachelor's, I have involved myself with service to the community as much as possible and joined the International Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) where I headed many state and national missions as the YDEEPA project leader, for the upliftment of underprivileged girls in India and spreading awareness of our fragile environment and care for it has been very close to my heart.
Currently, I am a pre-service teacher pursuing my Master's in Teaching in Early Childhood and Primary from Australian Catholic University, Victoria. Prior to this, I completed my bachelor of education, where I focussed on sociology, psychology, English and commercial studies. While pursuing my education, I also worked as a teacher’s assistant at Carman School which motivated me to study further. The experience taught me to manage larger classroom sizes, work with children of different skills and backgrounds, using various techniques to encourage effective learning. I was born and brought up in India, where I felt driven to be a teacher and working with the kids reaffirmed my passion. I believe that my positive attitude, passion, enthusiasm and hands-on experience from Carman School and learning from the Master' course will make me a good teacher.
